Tasting Notes
Rich, ripe, and round in all aspects. Find a beautiful cherry, briarwood, and cigar box nose that’s warm and inviting. Blueberry flavors with hints of cherry cola and blackberry pie filling are followed by various black fruits that wrap around the tongue in a lush, seamless blanket. You get a faint wisp of new oak towards the middle followed by cranberry and raspberry supported on a seam of bright acidity.
About the Wine
88% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah
What a great year to be in the Zinfandel business. In both Paso Robles and Sonoma, we experienced a vintage that may rank amongst the best we’ve seen in years. Both a big crop and high quality crop to boot. The fruit from this wine came from two sources: old vine Paso Robles Zinfandel, and old vine Petite Sirah from Dry Creek Valley. The combination is superb and expresses the best a winemaker can hope for when trying to achieve a wine like this.
