Tasting Notes
The nose of this wine is bold and fresh with aromas of blackberry, black currant and toasted cinnamon. Opaque colour showing youth. The taste is pleasantly generous and smooth. Bitter sweet like dark chocolate richness. Ultra smooth, soft ripe tannins. Serious, red wine for a red wine lover.
About the Wine
Hand Picked, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cão GRAPE ORIGIN The grapes came from our owned and directly explored vineyards located in Cima Corgo. VINIFICATION The grape vintage is done by hand and transported to the winery in small boxes of 25 kg, sorted, stemmed and crushed at the winery entrance. Then follows a pre-maceration at 32ºC for 24 hours, inoculation and fermentation below 24°C until complete exhaustion of sugars. AGEING About 30% of the lot is matured in used French and American oak barrels of 225 and 300 litres.
About the Winery
Established in just 2006 by Isabel and Pedro Carmo. A converted Farmhouse they benefit from excellent sunlight exposure on southern slopes. Schist soils and have planted all the key grapes of the Duero.
